Yangon

Yangon is the main gate way to Myanmar by air and sea. It is located about 45 min by flight from Bangkok. It is a Myanmar’s biggest city and became the capital in 1885. From Yangon, you can extend to the other parts of Myanmar by flights, cruises and coaches. Shwedagon Pagoda is the land mark of Yangon and colonial buildings are located in Downtown area. You need to spend about two days to explore Yangon city. The most popular places in Yangon are Kandawgyi Garden, Colonial area, Shwedagon Pagoda, Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, Botahtaung Pagoda, National Museum, Bogyoke Market, Mahabandula Garden with independence Monument and City Hall. Full or half day sightseeing in Yangon is recommended before visiting up country and at the end of the trip.
